This company is one of the UK’s leading specialist machine manufacturers, designing and producing automated machinery. This is an exciting permanent opportunity to work with a global engineering company who are experts in special purpose machinery manufacturing. They are seeking Control Systems Engineers with proven experience of machinery automation/servo control to join their highly successful team.


This is a diverse role working on special purpose machinery to specific criteria, in a fast-paced printing and packaging industry, with a small team of engineers. As world class leaders there will be opportunities to develop and travel to customers.


The ideal candidates will have approximately 5years automation experience writing control software, forming design and commissioning PLC’s and BOSCH MLC servo control systems. The individual will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work with HMI software, safety systems, inverters, pneumatics, communication networks and produce and read supporting technical and electrical documentation using ePlan or similar.



·         Servo machinery design

·         Recommend new technologies to improve efficiency

·         Producing engineering design and testing documentation 

·         Travelling to client sites both UK and abroad when required – 1 week every 2/3 months.


Preferably educated to a degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, you will ideally have experience of process improvement, lean & six sigma as well as background of programming PLC (Siemens, Rockwell, B&R, Bosch or Lenze) and HMI systems. Experience of working with variable speed and servo drives is essential.

The successful Control Systems Engineer will be methodical and accurate, with excellent communication and problem solving skills. The role is commutable from within and around the following locations: York, Hull and Scarborough.
