Workshop Technician with panel wiring ability now required for a growing company who have a solid reputation for offering a full range of design, prototyping, assembly, installation and support to the Aerospace and Automotive manufacturing industries.

 

Joining a busy and professional engineering team, the Workshop Technician will be responsible for the build of equipment to a high specification where quality & accuracy is key for electronic test and assembly solutions.

 

You will be working from drawings and build instructions to assemble bespoke Test Equipment which is used by Customers on their sites in the UK and overseas in the production of their products.

 

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Electronic and Electrical Assembly
  • Panel Marking Out, Wiring and Assembly
  • Electro-Mechanical assembly of Jigs, Fixtures and Test Rigs
  • Harness Assembly
  • Quality Assurance Inspection
  • Installation on Customer sites
  • Testing and Fault Finding

 

We are seeking applicants ideally qualified with an apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electronics or equivalent in a related subject.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Panel assembly, soldering and crimping, electro-mechanical assembly, wiring and cabling
  • Ability to identify components and read technical drawings
  • Good Manual Dexterity
  • Machine Shop Experience

 

Additional

  • Attention to detail and passionate about work
  • A healthy interest in the automotive industry or industrial electronics
  • Good personal presentation and communication
  • Willing to work at the client site and the occasional need to travel away – up to 10% mostly UK with occassional travel within  Europe
  • Full Driving licence and own car
