A leading marine and
offshore power & automation specialist based within the North of England
are seeking to recruit an experienced Electrical Supervisor. Due to continued
expansion and an increasing order book, additional Electrical Supervisors are
required to join the production team.
The position involves,
but is not limited to hands on day-to-day management of electrical and control
system assembly covering:
- Control panel
building including testing & commissioning
- Switchboard &
MCC building
- Electrical system
building
- Electrical and
control system installation on board vessels/customer sites
- Mobilisation of
offshore construction equipment
An important aspect of
the position will involve close liaison with the Design and Admin teams to
co-ordinate procurement and timely delivery of the materials and equipment required
to meet production schedules and managing shop floor labour resource to deliver
equipment on time.
Duties will include
- Liaising with
design department & Client,
- Ordering materials
& organising labour,
- Modifying
drawings, parts lists & raising variation orders,
- Risk assessments
& method statements,
- Responsibility for
build quality, testing & budget control.
- Onsite
Requirements
- Onsite supervision
covering installation of company and 3rd party equipment on various types
of ships, offshore modules, onshore locations or at customer's premises
worldwide.
Onsite activities
involve
- Installation of
power cables LV/MV/HV, Control cables, cable management systems,
switchgear, control systems, Power distribution, power sources, CCTV and
Coms.
- Installation of
new equipment modification and repair of old equipment will also be
required.
Additionally you will
be involved with
- Liaising with
client prior to and during installation,
- Materials ordering
and delivery to site,
- Organising labour,
site meetings with client & tool box talks,
- Risk assessments,
method statements & work permits,
- Asbuilt drawings,
installation quality, testing & budget control.
The ideal candidates
will have a sound knowledge of electrical hardware, wiring and assembly
techniques, good personnel management skills and the ability to take initiative
and work under pressure. Organisation and prioritisation of tasks in order to
meet production and delivery deadlines will be a key attribute and good oral
and written communication skills important.
As a diligent,
customer-focused, quality orientated, methodical, flexible, energetic,
enthusiastic and disciplined team player, the ideal candidate will form an
integral part of the delivery team.
It's preferred but not
essential that the successful candidate has BOSIET, Offshore Medical, MIST
& COMPEX, also experience with a drawing package such as Autocad, Eplan
etc.
Successful candidates
must be IT literate with experience using Microsoft office and have full UK
driving Licence or recognised international license.
Prior Offshore
experience is not essential & although predominantly workshop based, short
infrequent periods of national and international travel will be required
