Control Systems Design & Commissioning Engineer - The Role:

• Design the control systems to suit the application, prepare drawings/schematics and specifications along with the procurement of control panels and electrical installation packages.  
• Writing software code from scratch for PLCs and specifying network connections and interfaces
• Commissioning of complete systems, ideally with a background of materials handling

• Liaising with customers and the sales team to ascertain and produce a functional design specification (FDS) for clients, along with assisting and supporting the sales team by providing cost estimates for the design, procurement and installation of control systems.

Control Systems Design & Commissioning Engineer - The Person:

• Engineer with an understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Ideally possessing a strong background in automation, materials handling, process plant, production lines, warehouse systems or similar industries involving the control of movement and flow.
• Mechatronics background would be ideal.
• Experience of programming Siemens TIA PLC.
• AutoCAD experience to modify drawings would be desirable, but not essential
• Must be flexible to spend up to 65% of your time working on-site for commissioning on projects throughout the UK & Ireland with very occasional European travel.
• When not on site, you will write software from home/office

Located in North West, this role would be commutable from Manchester, Bury, Oldham, Bolton and Stockport.
