Machine Tool Service Engineer with PLC experience now required for a leading company within the steel processing sector. Utilising some of the most advanced CNC machine tool technology within the industry, this global leader employs a team of specialists to provide clients with cutting edge technology and bespoke engineered solutions. A market leader in steel construction, they can offer a challenging and varied environment for the right candidate.

 

They now require a versatile Field Service Engineer with electro-mechanical and PLC fault finding experience to cover the whole of Scotland with additional UK and European cover as required. The ideal candidate will be capable of working on their own initiative in a variety of demanding environments completing: 

  • Operator training
  • Diagnostics & repairs
  • Servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Installation of new and used CNC drilling & sawing lines including commissioning

 

Whilst the majority of service work undertaken will be in the Scotland, there will be some overseas travel to USA and Canada, Scandinavia and Italy. You will also be expected to cover other sites throughout the UK.

 

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Solid background of working in a field service role
  • Full UK valid driving license – preferably clean
  • Solid experience of PLC controls  - Fanuc/Siemens ideal but others also considered
  • Solid background of the machine tool sector – steel processing would be preferred
  • CAD/CAM experience would be advantageous
  • It is ESSENTIAL you have both mechanical and electrical skills with a minimum 30% on your weakest skill
  • Be prepared for travel away from home in the week - weekend working is rare but possible.

 

In return you will receive a basic salary c£30-33k experience depending with company pension scheme, private healthcare, company car and all allowances covered, paid overtime, fuel card and credit card making an OTE of around £40,000.
