Excellent opportunity for a skilled Electrical Service Engineer with PLC ability to join a specialist in the provision of complex automated systems. You will be travelling internationally and offshore to provide both service and commissioning of electrical & PLC controlled equipment.

 

You will be responsible for the complete life cycle of all manufactured products from site assembly & test, installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of complete specialist handling solutions located worldwide. This role involves extensive travel offshore anywhere from 2 days up to 8 weeks per trip.

 

Field Service Engineer – The Role:

 

  • Attend breakdowns and undertake fault finding
  • Identifying faults and repairing products
  • Liaise with customers and ensure that they are up to date on progress
  • Be required to use a wide variety of testing equipment including Load Cells
  • Advise customers on best possible solutions to ensure that equipment is working to the best of its ability.

 

Field Service Engineer - The Person

 

    1. Ideally from a Time served apprenticeship
    2. Ability to fault find electrical / PLC issues
    3. Conversant with Electrical / PLC Schematic
    4. Flexible attitude - extensive travel worldwide
    5. Excellent customer service skills

 

Successful candidates will have a strong multi-skilled background within Electrical / PLC and be able to fault-find and modify PLC Programmes at customer sites. Knowledge of one or two PLC suppliers is expected and further training on others will be given.

 

Any industrial background can be considered providing you are willing and flexible to train. You can expect a base salary c£35,000 with offshore allowances, overseas payments, overtime and pension. A Van is provided for any UK work required.

 

This role is based in Central Scotland and is commutable from within and around the following areas: East Kilbride, Glasgow, Hamilton and Motherwell. We have an additional requirement for a Service Engineer in the West Midlands commutable from around Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Telford.

 

The travel is very project dependent and will vary year to year from 30 - 80% away from home so flexibility is key.
