Mechanical Design Draughtsperson

Overtime
Specialist
provider of complex systems to the marine sector has an excellent opportunity
for a Mechanical Design Draughtsperson to join a professional team to develop
detailed design drawings and specifications for complex automated equipment.
Duties will include:

Produce and assist with
practical new designs from functional specifications to tight timescales in a
supportive team environment
·
Generation
of documentation within the design department including 2D & 3D drawings,
layouts, GA’s, interface, manufacturing, parts lists and drawing office Issue
note’s to ensure project deadlines set both internally and externally are met
·
Layout
design of mechanical/hydraulic/electrical machinery
·
Contribution
to the completion and implementation of concessions and alterations /
amendments to drawings
·
Participation
in, and contribution to, design reviews, contract reviews and other project
related activities
·
Assist
with / co-ordinate the creation of contract and recommended spares lists
·
Assist
the technical author during the creation of operations and maintenance manuals
·
Assistance
with other departments, notably sales, estimating, purchasing, production,
project management, quality assurance and service engineering
We are looking for a
suitably qualified engineer with a positive “can do” attitude who understands
the importance of deadlines, budgets and working as part of the team. The daily
workload is generally varied and requires individuals who are willing to assist
and play their part in meeting business goals when and where required.
The successful
candidate will have as a minimum:

HNC
in mechanical & production engineering or equivalent experience
·
Experience
in structural steel fabrication design
·
A
high degree of computing literacy on engineering design packages
·
Good
interpersonal skills
·
A
highly organised approach to managing workload
You will ideally have
experience of AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault, Ansys, MS Office and Epicor.
Hours of work will be
based on a normal five day working week of 37 hrs between 08:00 – 16:45 Monday
to Thursday and 08:00 – 12:00 Friday. However where required to do so, you must
be prepared to work additional hours to help meet operational deadlines for the
benefit of the business.
This role
is based in the West Midlands and is commutable from within and around the
following areas: Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Wellington.
