Excellent
opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Service Engineer to join a specialist company
in the provision of complex systems to the Marine sector. You will be
travelling internationally and offshore, to provide both Service and
Commissioning of Mechanical Marine Handling systems.
You will be
responsible for the complete life cycle of all manufactured products from site
assembly & test, installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of
complete Marine Handling Solutions located worldwide. This role involves extensive
travel offshore anywhere from 2 days up to 8 weeks per trip.
Duties will
include:

Attending
breakdowns and undertaking fault finding
·
Identifying
faults and repairing products
·
Liaising
with customers and ensuring that they are up to date on progress
·
Being
required to use a wide variety of testing equipment including load cells
·
Advising
customers on best possible solutions to ensure that equipment is working to the
best of its ability.
Successful
candidates will possess a strong mechanical background, with any additional
abilities to fault-find and modify PLC Programmes advantageous. You will:
- Ideally have completed
a time served apprenticeship
- Be able to read
and work from mechanical drawings
- Show competency with
machine building, assembly and testing of complex industrial equipment
- Possess a flexible
working attitude (extensive travel worldwide)
- Provide excellent
customer service
- Be able to work on
own initiative
- Present excellent
problem solving skills
- Work and remain
calm under pressure
Any industrial
background will be considered, providing you are willing and flexible to complete
training. You can expect a base salary c£26-30k with offshore allowances,
overseas payments, overtime and pension. A van is provided for any UK work
required.
This role is based in
the West Midlands and is commutable from within and around the following areas:
Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Wellington.
The travel is very
project dependent and will vary year to year from 30 – 80% away from home so
flexibility is key.
