A Software Engineer is immediately sought for a prestigious and innovative business to be involved with research and development of new automation technologies.

The main purpose of Software Engineer is to support the development and adoption of Industrial Internet of Things technology through development of technology and service ecosystems, capture of end user requirements, engagement with technology adoption programs, creative problem solving, IIoT systems architecting and deployment. The post holder is expected to contribute to Intelligent Automation/Digital Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 related projects and strategy.

·       The post holder is expected to strongly support leadership activities within the North West ofoce relevant to the IIoT technology area.

·       The post holder is expected to manage their own projects, support project management by the creation and maintenance of project plans, status reports, and conduct risk reviews

Responsibilities:

·       Provide  technical and sub-team leadership to others in areas of expertise

·       Lead project proposal and business case writing for small and medium projects

·       Lead technical liaison with customer during project delivery

·       Lead engagement with new existing customers to win repeat business

·       Lead engagement with technology and service partners to build relevant technology ecosystems

·       Generation of new project ideas in alignment with the theme's strategy

·       Own career development through mentoring, coaching and training courses

·       Provide technical support to less experienced engineers

The sucessful Software Engineer will have good knowledge and demonstrable experience of applied IoT technologies in an industrial or relevant environment, experience with high level programming languages such as Java, C#, and C++. Ideally have a relevant degree; Masters, PhD or industrial experience and chartered or working towards professional qualification.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience, but you can expect c£35-40k with benefits to include up to 8% Pension, Subsidised Lunch, Contribution to Professional Membership Fees, Life Assurance x4, Childcare Vouchers and 25 Days Holiday.

Located in the North West, commutable from within and around the following areas: Liverpool, Warrington, Wigan and St Helens
