Unique opportunity for a skilled Machine Tool Service Engineer to work either as an employee or on a self-employed basis covering the Midlands area. With an electrical bias, you will provide breakdown service & repair of a broad range of machine tools for a variety of clients, therefore we are ideally seeking candidates with background working with many types of CNC machines.

You will be responsible for the breakdown service and repair of a wide variety of Machine Tools including lathes, milling machines and machining centres.

The successful Service Engineer will have experience of:

·         CNC controls either Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain

·         Ability to fault find and replace drives and motors

·         Knowledge of Pneumatics and Hydraulics

·         Experience of installing and commissioning machinery

·         Good customer service skills

The ideal Service Engineer will preferably hold a C&G or ONC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline; it would be advantageous to have served a machine tool apprenticeship but not essential.

This role is home based and will cover the Midlands with the ideal candidate living within or around Leicester, Birmingham, Coventry, Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, Derby, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Nuneaton, Warwick and Stafford.

In return you can expect an excellent basic hourly rate with paid overtime, and either company van or car allowance, pension and Flexible Working Hours, (for example working days Monday to Thursday)   This role would suit a Field Service Engineer who is looking to give up long motorway journey’s, nights away from home, as well as being guaranteed to get home every evening.
