An immediate
opportunity working for well known food and beverage manufacturers throughout
the world. You will be involved with the enhancement and implementation of new
manufacturing
systems to enhance
automated production.
You can live anywhere
in the UK or Europe.
Work will be 1 or 2
weeks on site, 1 week working from home. Travelling time if over the weekend
will be added to your holiday allowance.
Key Responsibilities
· Preparation,
configuration, installation and commissioning of bespoke software on customer
sites
· Provide on-site
technical assistance and support to customers and agents
· Deliver on site
customer support and basic training to new and existing customers, as required
· Helping customers &
agents solve technical issues with company range of production line monitoring
software solutions
· Provide technical
support to the sales team in live projects or new customer development
· Understand the range of
products to effectively troubleshoot issues, replicate problematic behaviour
and provide design suggestions
· Configuration of
software solution customised to individual site requirements
· Remote access of
deployed systems to diagnose and repair issues or create performance reports
· Acts as a liaison
between the project team and the customer on technical issues ensuring everyone
is aware of the job's progress and any issues that have arisen during
implementation
Essential
Skills and Experience
· Proven knowledge and
experience of configuration & program modification of PLC & HMI
automation equipment, can be any: Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens S5, S7,
Beckhoff, B&R
· 2-3 years previous
experience in a similar engineering installation role within manufacturing –
FMCG advantageous
· Excellent language
& communication skills (English) in both verbal and written formats as you
will be required to liaise with customers face to face, via the telephone/
conference calls and deliver basic operator training to customer personnel
· Excellent PC skills,
familiar with most MS Office products;
An understanding of
remote access software and technologies, e.g. VPN client software is also
preferred, along with experience of industrial communications, including OPC,
Modbus, DH+, Profibus, Profinet, Industrial TCPIP. Knowledge of production line
monitoring and metrics including OEE and 6 Sigma would also be an advantage, as
would data acquisition/databases i.e. SQL
The successful Commissioning Engineer will be home based but the
vast majority of your time will involve attending customer sites throughout the
UK and Overseas, so a flexible approach to work is essential, along with a
valid Passport and Driving License. We are open to consider applications from
Engineers throughout the UK – you must just be prepared to visit head office in
the Midlands when required.
