A leading global automation developer is now urgently seeking an Automation Systems Service Engineer to join their expanding business and provide industry leading support services to their UK&I install base. The ideal Service Engineer will have excellent communication/customer service skills as you will be required to communicate with customers at all levels, along with:

·         Ability to plan and work independently in order to deliver service projects

·         A strong understanding of IT concepts i.e. Networks, Security and Operating Systems

·         Ability to generate/modify PLC/SCADA/DCS/SIS application software to fulfil customer requirements

·         Ability to modify PLC/SCADA/DCS/SIS system configuration to fulfil required specifications

This role will require you to travel within the UK, and occasionally within the EU, with resulting time away from home. You will be field based, working from home/office in the North West of England Monday - Friday, therefore you will need a valid UK Driving License.

You will provide routine and on demand customer service including maintenance/inspection of automation systems, which will include providing periodic out of hours 'On-Call' emergency support. At other times you may be deployed within an Operations Team to provide commissioning support on large scale capital projects.

The successful Automation Service Engineer will ideally have cthree years’ work experience with Automation Systems, DCS, PLC/SCADA and SRS. Preferably you will have a formal qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Service Engineer who is looking for more than your average automation service job. The role will include not just modification & service of automated systems, but you will be working with high-level complex technology and have the chance to spend time in the field with your own system. Predominantly you will be focusing on power and energy from waste technologies, however other industries will include marine, aggregates, paper and other process sectors.

This is a home based role to cover the North West M6 corridor from Stoke-on-Trent to Dundee. Ideal locations would include Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Preston and surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive company. In return you can expect benefits to include a company car, pension, overtime and 25 days holiday + stats. Salary is negotiable with experience.
