A leading
global automation developer is now urgently seeking an Automation Systems
Service Engineer to join their expanding business and provide industry leading
support services to their UK&I install base. The ideal Service Engineer
will have excellent communication/customer service skills as you will be required
to communicate with customers at all levels, along with:

Ability
to plan and work independently in order to deliver service projects
·
A
strong understanding of IT concepts i.e. Networks, Security and Operating
Systems
·
Ability
to generate/modify PLC/SCADA/DCS/SIS application software to fulfil customer
requirements
·
Ability
to modify PLC/SCADA/DCS/SIS system configuration to fulfil required
specifications
This role
will require you to travel within the UK, and occasionally within the EU, with
resulting time away from home. You will be field based, working from
home/office in the North West of England Monday - Friday, therefore you will
need a valid UK Driving License.
You will
provide routine and on demand customer service including maintenance/inspection
of automation systems, which will include providing periodic out of hours
'On-Call' emergency support. At other times you may be deployed within an
Operations Team to provide commissioning support on large scale capital
projects.
The
successful Automation Service Engineer will ideally have cthree years’ work
experience with Automation Systems, DCS, PLC/SCADA and SRS. Preferably you will
have a formal qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
This is an
excellent opportunity for a skilled Service Engineer who is looking for more
than your average automation service job. The role will include not just
modification & service of automated systems, but you will be working with
high-level complex technology and have the chance to spend time in the field
with your own system. Predominantly you will be focusing on power and energy
from waste technologies, however other industries will include marine,
aggregates, paper and other process sectors.
This is a
home based role to cover the North West M6 corridor from Stoke-on-Trent to Dundee.
Ideal locations would include Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Preston and
surrounding areas.
