Technical Support Engineer – Days to start, will become Shifts

Technical Support Engineer with automation experience now sought to join a world leader in bespoke software development for a growing industry sector.

This is the ideal role for a field controls / electrical engineer or technician looking to move into a more desk based role with a successful company. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support to all customers via the telephone.

Liaising with customers, you'll provide valuable training and an exceptional level of support to ensure that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively.

The following skills and experience will benefit your application:

·         Experience of automation and control systems

·         Familiarity with PLCs, electrical panels and SCADA systems

·         Electrical or controls qualification

·         Windows PCs and Servers set-up

·         Ethernet networking

·         Experience of SQL, C++ or VisualBasic would also be helpful

A full driving licence is required.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills and a logical, analytical approach. Methodical and driven, you must also have a strong customer focus and superb attention to detail.

The company are intending to build a technical support team to provide 24/7 cover, therefore this will begin as a day’s role but will stagger over time to work a shift pattern as the team grows. As part of the initial training, you will go out with the commissioning team to local sites in order to understand the software and how it works in situ.

All expenses paid along with allowances for any time spent on site. Full healthcare and 25 days holiday for all staff. Once the role becomes shift based, a shift premium will also be paid.

Located in the East Midlands, this role is commutable from within and around the following areas: Nottingham, Loughborough, Leicester and Grantham.
