Senior Automation Engineer with team leading ability immediately sought for a prestigious and innovative business to be involved with research and development of new automation technologies.

The purpose of this role is to coordinate, manage and lead the research program and resources in the team to meet the needs of clients and stakeholders. The team duties will include leading the design, build, commission and test of intelligent automation systems for a variety of manufacturing processes and systems across a broad range of industrial sectors.

Duties:

• Provide line management and team development and technical leadership to the team whilst undertaking project delivery tasks
• Generation of key project and strategic initiatives, including new project ideas
• Customer and partner liaison in large collaborative projects

The successful Senior Automation Engineer will have good knowledge in the development of complimentary and/or innovative technology solutions for a variety of industrial sectors, along with demonstrable experience managing multiple project demands.

As a team leader, demonstration of mentoring, people management, organisation, presentation, customer negotiation, project management and budgetary control skills will be essential.

It is essential you have a firm understanding of engineering principles with a general knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes and system integration principles. Also sought:

• Experience of PLC programming, technical computing languages and robot simulation software – i.e. Siemens, Allen Bradley, ABB RobotStudio
• Experience with robotic programming languages including AB, Kuka, Fanuc, Staubli
• Experience of programming languages such as C++, C#, JAVA, Python

Salary is negotiable depending on experience, but you can expect c£45-50k with benefits to include up to 8% Pension, Subsidised Lunch, Contribution to Professional Membership Fees, Life Assurance x4, Childcare Vouchers and 25 Days Holiday. The role is Monday-Friday 9-4.
