Technical Support Engineer with solid background of DCS Service Engineering within a process control environment now sought for a market leading manufacturer and integrator who are known for their advanced technology.

The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for completing installation/commissioning, fault analysis and repair across a range of DCS systems. You will also:

• Develop and implement product/system configuration changes on site
• Provide on-site customer training in the application, service and operation of all products
• Be available to participate on the on-call rota for out of hours support
• Assist Sales Engineers in the demonstration of products
• Assist Service Manager with the quotation process by providing technical support
• Proactively identify service opportunities

In order to be considered for this role, the DCS Technical Support Engineer will ideally hold a formal qualification in an engineering discipline such as electronics, computer science or control engineering. Also sought:

• Experience in the repair and service of DCS systems i.e. Emerson Delta-V, ABB 800xA,  Honeywell Experion/Plantscape or Yokogawa Centum
• Good understanding of safety systems – TUV or equivalent certification would be advantageous
• Be prepared to travel to customer sites throughout the UK – c10%

Knowledge and experience of Industrial Control system hardware and software is essential along with being fully conversant with all aspects of control & system optimisation. You will also be skilled as a Field Service Engineer including call-out experience. Must be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team. Any knowledge of fiscal metering solutions would be highly advantageous.
