Skilled Business Development Manager with solid experience of selling automation technology into OEM’s now sought to develop and implement successful strategies and tactics to drive towards market leadership in specific industry segments, focusing on large and medium size accounts. The job holder will identify, develop and win new business through key growth initiatives and prospecting to grow the drives and servo-motors sales, meeting set agreed targets and to become the Sales team authority in the assigned target industry segments.

 

Segments assigned will depend upon the knowledge and capabilities of the successful candidate, likely segments include Converting, Elevators, Stage and Scenery, Material Handling, Metal Processing and Packaging

 

This role provides an excellent opportunity to join an award winning UK Drives team in a challenging and exciting position. The Business Development Manager will:

  • Have ability to demonstrate key attributes for succeed of passion, enthusiasm, and tenacity 
  • Using research to identify and progress new business opportunities within the target market segments
  • Develop, implement and update as necessary a strategic business action plan aimed at growing sales and influence in the market segment
  • Track new prospects, develop relationships and facilitate the formal tender and procurement process right through to contract signing, implementation and go live
  • Develop a unique value proposition for the market sector and deliver it to key customers
  • Contribute to the design, production and effective delivery of high quality sales presentation and proposals to prospective customers
  • Work with existing customers to maximize business opportunities by recommending solutions improvements for their next generation machines

 

Travel:                                     

  • Daily / Weekly travel across the UK and occasionally Ireland
  • From time to time, European and Intercontinental travel may be required

 

Experience:

  • Professional qualification in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering. Degree/ONC/HNC / HND preferred
  • Strong commercial and technical background in Drives and Motors particularly servo solutions.
  • New business development experience and a deep understanding of Marketing principles
  • System and application knowledge within a related industry
