Our client are leading company based in Telford. They now have a career opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer capable of achieving results through working within a successful team of people, determined to reach the highest standards of quality.

The ideal Control Engineer will hold the following skills:

Expert in the knowledge of control systems, able to specify, design, execute and install using programmable logic controllers (PLC), electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring legislative compliance and in-line with all relevant standards.

Able to develop software for all control system applications to ensure maximum productivity from plant through reliability and standardisation (both technical and operator interface).

Support existing electrical, instrumentation and control systems and ensure requests for change/assistance are satisfied in accordance with existing standards to ensure production is maximised and all modifications are recorded / approved.

Recommend improvements or replacements which will improve reliability, safety or production through expert product knowledge - to be familiar with Rockwell products in particular, new releases and applications where the product is in use elsewhere.

Must demonstrate a pragmatic, insightful, and logical approach to problem solving and continually challenge traditional methods whilst constantly thinking about simplification, standardisation, and improvement.

Qualifications & Experience Required

·       Educated to degree level in electrical and electronic engineering.

·       At least four years' relevant industrial experience.

·       Knowledge of H&S requirements regarding control systems, robotics, and human interface.

·       Work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

·       Experience of working with Continuous Improvement processes.

·       Knowledge of process and packaging machinery operation and process pipework systems, to complement the control system design and programming work

·       Experience of programming Rockwell PLC systems 

Control engineering requirements are defined by Engineering management and Development Engineers. Resources and project scheduling are self-managed.

Work is proactively sought where the company can be enhanced through control system refinement.

Salary dependent on qualifications and experience, based around £39k, company benefits include company pension. After a years' service benefits include extra week's holiday, life cover, health cash plan plus flexible benefits. 39.5 hours per week with flexibility to ensure delivery
