A successful company who is undergoing a sustained period of growth and expansion is now looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established team.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have the knowledge and experience of creatively solving engineering problems on a range of innovative mechanically biased projects, effectively and efficiently. It is essential that you have a minimum of 2 years' experience within a mechanical engineering role and possess a flair for the design of new concepts and ideas for engineering applications, as you will assist with the development of bespoke products and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have gained experience within an automation/production environment and have developed practical hands on skills, alongside a solid understanding of engineering methods. You will also have solid experience of 3D CAD - Autodesk Inventor ideal however others are considered. Experience of design for manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) methodologies, would be advantageous. Preferably you will be commercially astute and have an understanding of project costing and budgeting.

You will be qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering (or a similar discipline) and be passionate about engineering, machinery and mechanisms, whilst being eager to take on more responsibility and projects and professionally develop further as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

We are seeking candidates who are creative, energetic and have an effective work ethos who can work as part of an established team.

This role does involve an element of travel throughout the UK and the world, so being fluent in a second language would be desirable.

In return, this role offers an excellent salary based on experience with access to the company pension scheme (up to 7.5% matched) and contribution towards membership of a professional engineering institution along with a discretionary bonus scheme.
