Overseas Service Engineer (Multi Skilled)

Total solutions provider of precision machine tools to blue-chip clients now seeks an experienced multi skilled Service Engineer to join the installation team.

As a member of the service team you will be responsible for providing support on assignments such as: repairs (planned and unplanned) refurbishments, as well as being a member of the machine installation team.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

·         Carry out on-site diagnostic and remedial mechanical service/repairs/upgrades on customer's machines, ensuring the customer is left wholly satisfied and the scope of work is successfully completed.

·         Continuously develop own skills and knowledge of the company’s product range, historical and current, so that you have an understanding of the different machine types and likely service requirements within the field.

·         Extend own knowledge to include electrical and controls so as to be able to provide a comprehensive - cross discipline - support service.

·         Communicate with stakeholders (customers, suppliers and internal employees) effectively, ensuring understanding of job deliverables and time scales.

·         Provide accurate quotations and/or technical information promptly with follow up calls to secure future sales.

·         At all times demonstrate a flexible and supportive attitude to work, recognising the nature of this role as being demanding and needing a prompt response to customer requests - especially the need to travel internationally at short notice.

Key Skills and Experience:

·         Strong technical knowledge of machine tools, able to diagnose mechanical problems and rectify.

·         Able to work unsupervised, self-motivate, and prioritise own workload.

·         Excellent technical working knowledge of Milling Machines and Grinding Machines.

·         Excellent customer service skills, able to remain positive and calm under pressure and always present a professional persona.

·         Good computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft suite of programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long established business who are at the forefront of high precision machine tool design. You can expect a basic salary of £35k - £37k depending on experience, with on target earnings up to £50k. It is essential you are flexible to travel overseas for this role. Based in the North West, we are seeking candidates located in and around the following areas: Oldham, Bury, Rochdale or any other surrounding areas.
