Experienced Robotics Application Specialist immediately sought for an industry leader in the design, manufacture & installation of bespoke packaging solutions. The Robot Applications Engineer will be joining a globally renowned business with installations across the world within a broad range of markets.

The Robot Applications Engineer is sought to work hand in hand with the Sales Director in order to further develop the robot automation offering to define & execute the road map for the sales team, taking full ownership of the robot concepts. You will be working directly with customers in order to understand their needs, developing specifications for robotic cells & equipment to their specifications & budget.

Responsibilities will include:

• Analyse and identify customer needs
• Develop solutions/concepts
• Review customer bid specifications
• Create layout drawings utilising 3D and modelling CAD software
• Perform robotic reach studies and simulations
• Carry out site surveys

Presentation skills and commercial acumen are essential along with the ability to integrate the latest technologies within robot automation.

The successful Robot Applications Engineer will possess a broad knowledge of end of arm tooling, have proven skills in robot simulation and be able to proactively communicate with clients and internal departments. You will also:

• Be aware of Robotic H&S requirements
• Have a solid understanding of current market trends and pricing
• Have a solid understanding of the latest robotic technologies
• Have proven capability to lead projects
• Able to create line layout drawings using AutoCAD, 3D and modelling software
• Create proposals
• Perform robotic reach studies & simulations
• Ideally solid experience of Fanuc & Kuka; ABB would also be of interest

This role will require an Engineer who is confident with both leading internal projects and presenting to external clients. You will be assured of your skills & knowledge, able to advise on the best applications/technology. The Robot Applications Engineer will be highly organised, driven and passionate to achieve goals.

You must be a self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously and within a team. Predominantly an office based role, there will be c20% travel expected to visit with customers across the UK & Europe in order to present solutions.
