Technical Support Engineer to focus on automation aspects of bespoke machine tools based in the Midlands now sought to join a specialist machine tool team owing to an increase in work.

The Automation Technical Support Engineer will be joining a world leader who have successfully grown the business by 20% during 2020. Providing a range of cutting, bending, laser cutting and automation systems to a wide client base, they are offering the opportunity to become part of a skilled service support team with outstanding training and development offered.

The Technical Support Engineer will:

·         Provide a high level of proactive engagement with customers relating to all automation aspects of machinery

·         Respond to all customer enquiries, assessing problems/issues with equipment, software & applications, helping to resolve them

·         Dispatching and coordinating Field Service Technicians as appropriate

·         There will be a requirement for c20% travel to local customers to assist with resolving technical issues

The Technical Support Engineer will have:

·         A higher level of knowledge in technical subject is a must (mechanical & electrical)

·         Task & project management skills, basic PC skills (customer relationship management software, Excel and PowerPoint)

·         Have a broad and deep ability to communicate complex technical issues, through different channels and different levels of the organization

·         Willing to travel up to 20% within the specific region, occasionally outside

·         Hold c3 years of experience in a technical field and/or service environment

·         Solid technical understanding of PLC/CNC technology with the ability to remotely diagnose faults

This role would suit an experienced Service Engineer looking for a more office based role.

Salary is commensurate with experience but you can expect a basic c£32k. If you already hold expertise within the technical support of machine tools, a higher base will be offered. Salary is for a 37.5 hour week with all overtime worked paid. Weekend overtime is available for those who want it, but not an essential part of the role. Company Car or Van is provided along with private healthcare, pension and all necessary equipment. Where applicable, discretionary bonus is paid.

This role is based in the West Midlands commutable from within and around Nuneaton, Leicester, Coventry, Kenilworth, Solihull and Rugby.
