One of the UKs leading manufacturer of safety systems now has a requirement for a Senior Automation Design Engineer based in Dorset with the ability to develop and specify and design safety control systems. Electrical Design and PLC Software using ladder essential.

You will be joining a business who have experienced an excellent period of growth and solid plans to almost double turnover in the next three years. They are keen to support Engineers in continued training with financial support offered.


Senior Automation Design Engineer - The Role:

  • Electrical wiring design and programming
  • PLC & HMI programming using Ladder Logic and Industrial communication protocols
  • TCP/IP & Modbus HMI animated graphical representation programming
  • Occasional site visits for commissioning
  • Control panel testing and electrical fault finding for bespoke projects
  • Providing remote support for Commissioning Engineers through TeamViewer
  • Electrical circuit design & calculations
  • AutoCAD LT drafting - mechanical, equipment layout, circuit diagrams, drawing standards & document control
  • Respsonsible for another Engineer and Apprentice
  • Providing technical guideance and support alongside assisting the workshop to ensure products and panels are manufactured to spec


Senior Automation Design Engineer - The Person:

  • HNC Qualified
  • 5 years within the bulding services or industrial automation sector
  • Experince with Schneider PLC, HMI and Drives beneficial
  • Must be innovative and have a proven track record of the design and development of machinery automation projects
  • Team player with the desire to succeed


Located in South Coast, this role would be commutable from Poole, Bournemouth and Ringwood.
