Leading national Systems Integrator seeking a Service Engineer who will provide maintenance support to their clients in the renewables, energy and infrastructure sectors at sites across the UK. Service Engineer - Automation

 

£25,000 - £35,000 + c£10k Allowances/Bonus  

 

Flexitime, 33 days holiday, £500 to spend on outside of work time activities with friends and family, employee wellbeing programme and onsite gym.

Service Engineer - The Role:

  • Provide technical support to clients, responding to inquiries, troubleshooting system issues, and resolving problems efficiently to minimise downtime
  • Conduct routine inspections, system audits, and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the continuous operation and reliability of control systems
  • Identify and analyse complex system faults, utilising troubleshooting techniques, diagnostic tools, and procedures to resolve issues effectively
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system modifications, upgrades, and enhancements to improve performance and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures, and solutions provided, ensuring comprehensive documentation for future reference
  • Train end-users and support personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems, empowering them to handle basic system issues independently
  • Part of your role will be undertaking reasonable amount of overtime including some nightshifts and weekends.

Service Engineer - The Person:

  • Previous experience in providing technical support for control systems or similar systems
  • Proficiency in fault finding on PLC systems
  • Familiarity with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and HMI (Human Machine Interface) design
  • Familiarity with industry-standard control system protocols, such as Modbus, Profibus, or Ethernet/IP
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Full UK Driving License

 

Located on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, this role would be commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Ripley and Loughborough and surrounding areas.
