Urgently required: Specialist Machine Vision Commissioning Engineer with a deep understanding of Cognex Vision Systems for automation. This exciting opportunity is to work within a leading company in the bespoke packaging lines sector, specifically serving the Pharmaceutical & Medical industries. You will be joining a company who provide solutions for complete product lifecycles working with the latest in automation technology.

Cognex Commissioning Engineer OTE £90k+

 

£60-65k + Paid Overtime + Car Option + Healthcare  

Earn c£20-25k on top of base

Cognex Commissioning Engineer - The Role:

  • Providing both remote and on-site service for a wide range of vision systems across complex and high-speed packaging lines.
  • Analysing problems, troubleshooting issues, optimising and extending software
  • Developing customer-specific functional extensions in Cognex VisionPro and Insight.
  • Pre-commissioning of camera stations at the EU headquarters.
  • Commissioning (hardware/software) of camera applications or complete stations remotely or on site at worldwide customers.
  • Conducting and documenting feasibility studies.
  • Creating requirement and functional design specifications.
  • Delivering customer training on site.

 

Cognex Commissioning Engineer  - The Person:

  • A degree in engineering, computer science or similar, or advanced technical education with significant experience in automation and mechatronics.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in application development of vision systems with Cognex products (VisionPro, Insight Explorer, Insight VC Explorer, Dataman, Checker).
  • General knowledge of vision systems including camera, optic, illumination etc.
  • Ideally, experience of line scan camera applications.
  • Knowledge of high-level language programming, ideally in VB.Net and C#.Net

 

Travel is an essential part of this role as you will spend much of your time working away with clients all over the UK. You will spend the first 2-3 months training in Germany, returning home every other weekend. Once trained, you can expect to spend 70-80% of your time travelling.

 

This role is home based. You should be in easy reach of an international airport and the motorway network. Ideal locations would include the greater Midlands, South Yorkshire, Bristol, M4 Corridor, within and around Manchester and across to Peterborough.
