Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - The Role:

  • Taking ownership of projects from initial concept through to build and support of commissioning and installation
  • Attending specification meetings with global customers and providing knowledgeable input on the mechanical design aspects of projects
  • Collaborating with other design engineers (mechanical and electrical) to ensure fully coordinated project designs
  • Making occasional visits to both UK and international destinations as necessitated by the project requirements
  • Keeping abreast of developments in UK and European safety legislation and attending courses as necessary

 

Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - The Person:

  • Experience in the design of electro-mechanical mechanisms and equipment
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling skills (preferably Solid Works)
  • Ability to design for manufacture and assembly
  • Knowledge of the machinery directive and UKCA/CE marking
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a Design Engineering role
  • Preferably an Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Integrated) or HNC – or time served with relevant experience
  • Any experience of automated machinery design specifically for packaging is highly advantageous, however as long as you have design experience for complex assembly, we want to hear from you

 

You will join an established team and will work side by side with senior engineers on a variety of upgrade and new development projects. There are genuine opportunities within the business for growth and progression, within design or other avenues depending on where your interest lies. Travel is c10% - potentially 3-4 times per year for less than a week at a time.
