Mechanical Design Engineer - 9 Month Contract

Pay Rate £35-43 per hour experience dependent

This growing business is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with the capability to provide concept mechanical designs for bespoke special purpose machinery to assist them through an exceptionally busy period.

You will use your mechanical design engineering ability to work on the development of new, cutting edge solutions to build systems for leading corporations in the UK, USA & China.

Mechanical Design Engineer- The Role

• Provide conceptual mechanical designs for special purpose machinery using SolidWorks
• Ensure the mechanical designs are delivered on-time within scope & budget
• Liaise with other departments including Electrical & Production to ensure material and resources are sufficient enough to meet critical delivery dates
• Generation of all necessary documentation
• Layout design of mechanical machinery
• Participation in and contribution to design & contract reviews

Mechanical Design Engineer - The Person

• Bachelor degree  
• Essential - skilled with SolidWorks
• Background of mechanical design for complex special purpose automated machinery is essential for this role
• Experience of applications using servo motor / motion control advantageous
• Ability to interpret various mechanical drawings/documents

This is an office based role located in East Sussex. Commutable locations include Crowborough, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hull, Eastbourne, Hastings and Rye.

Minimum office hours are 10:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday inclusive, and 10:00 – 13:00 on Fridays.
