Control Systems Engineer urgently required to join a highly skilled team who design, build, install and commission automated process systems for a wide range of industries including food, steel and renewable energy.

You will be working on a range of automated handling projects involving writing software utilising Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s, along with designing electrical control panels utilising PLC’s and Variable Speed Drives.

Duties will include:

  • Design, documentation, programming, testing, site installation & commissioning of PLC Control/Drive systems along with on-going system support
  • Providing customer support
  • Mentoring Junior Engineers
  • Implementing continuous improvement processes

Ideally, we are seeking a Control Engineer skilled with both PLC/HMI software development and Eplan for panel design. However, should your skills match the following, we would be keen to hear from you:

  • Junior Engineer confident with Eplan, with PLC understanding seeking further development/exposure to PLC software
  • Experienced Eplan Engineer with ability to programme PLC software, interested in further software design training
  • Experienced Engineer with both Eplan & PLC/HMI software development living further away confident to work remotely

We are seeking Engineers with experience of the integration of control and automation systems working on projects from concept to completion. You will also have:

  • Electrical control panel design using E-Plan P8
  • Experience of producing documentation (e.g. FDS, Test Specifications) and working to tight timescales
  • In-depth knowledge ideally of Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC/HMI, however experience of one is ok
  • Understanding and ability to configure SCADA systems preferred with any knowledge of Wonderware InTouch and/or System Platform highly advantageous
  • Configuration, testing and commissioning of drives in a wide range of applications

There will be the need to commission systems on site in the UK and occasionally overseas, so the flexibility to travel is essential. However please note this client is open to candidates looking for UK based work only as you will be joining a team therefore international travel is not essential.

This will suit an Engineer looking for a varied and interesting project base with the chance to take full project lifecycle involvement.

Working hours are 8-5 with a 1pm Friday finish, however, flexi-time is available, with options to work from home.

The office is commutable from Worksop, Doncaster, Gainsborough, Lincoln, Retford, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Sheffield and Rotherham.

Salary is negotiable commensurate with experience – we are looking c£32-42k but this can be discussed. Package includes a car/allowance/pool car depending on requirements, pension scheme and overtime/TOIL.

All respondents to this position must be eligible to live and work in the UK - Automation Experts are unable to assist with the award of Visas or UK Work Permits.
