Document Controller

£30,000 - £35,000 + Pension + 33 days holiday

This specialist bespoke systems manufacturer are now seeking a Document Controller with a mechanical production background to join their expanding business.

The Document Controller should ideally have experience compiling guides or user manuals. To be successful in this role you should have the ability to express instructions clearly and briefly in simple language, should be able to understand and structure large amounts of information and be able to anticipate a readers knowledge gap.

As the Document Controller, you will be:

•         Editing and compiling specialist information about a product or service and how they work

•         Producing documentation explaining how the product or service is used in a way that is easy to understand.

•         Assessing the customer and the nature of the documentation needed

•         Attend planning and briefing meetings

•         Liaise with engineering department

•         Collaborate with developers and managers to clarify any technical issues

•         Use the product or service in question to understand the technology and applications for documentation required

•         Commission, coordinate or prepare illustrations utilising Adobe

An ideal role for either an experienced Document Controller, Technical Author or a Mechanical Design Engineer with machinery design background who enjoys producing documentation and manuals.

Hours of work will be based on a normal five day working week of 37 hrs between 08:00 - 16:45 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 12:00 Friday.

This role is based in the West Midlands and is commutable from within and around the following areas: Telford, Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton and Wellington.
