Machine Tool Service Engineers based in the East Midlands & North Essex area now sought to join a specialist manufacturer within the Steel Process industry.

The Machine Tool Service Engineer will be joining a world leader who have successfully grown the business by 20% during 2020. Providing a range of cutting, bending, laser cutting and automation systems to a wide client base, they are offering the opportunity to become part of a skilled service team with outstanding training and development offered.

The Machine Tool Service Engineer will be responsible for:

• Service, installation, problem diagnosis and preventive maintenance of Laser Cutting & Press Machinery
• Training of new and existing customers on the maintenance of machinery  
• Diagnosing errors or technical problems and finding solutions
• Installing and maintaining machinery at customer sites

Candidates will ideally

• Hold at least 1 year related experience in mechanical or electrical machine tool engineering; laser cutting/bending technology would be highly advantageous
• Have a basic understanding and knowledge of PLC/CNC
• Be apprentice trained and/or a college or bachelor degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field

Salary is commensurate with experience but you can expect a basic c£30-32k. If you already hold expertise within the service of laser cutting machine tools, a higher base will be offered. Salary is for a 37.5 hour week with all overtime worked paid. Weekend overtime is available for those who want it, but not an essential part of the role. Company Car or Van is provided along with private healthcare, pension and all necessary equipment. Where applicable, discretionary bonus is paid.

Engineers are kept as regional as possible with additional cover to be provided in the UK as needed. The service engineering team average 1-6 nights away per month and it works out to roughly 40% of your time travelling and 60% working with customers.

This is a home based position with candidates ideally located within or around the following areas: Leicester, Northampton, Nottingham, Cambridge, Peterborough, Bedford and surrounding areas. We are seeking applicants easily able to access major routes/motorways.
