This forward-thinking global engineering manufacturer are now seeking to recruit a number of Mechanical Designers up to Principal/Responsible level to work on complex projects within the Nuclear & Defence sectors.

Senior Mechanical Designers to £54k

Principal Engineers To £69k

Flexi-time. Hybrid Working.

West Midlands or North West based.

Lead Mechanical Designers – The Role:

• Responsible for the day to day management of projects ensuring delivery of technically compliant designs through to manufacture
• Production and verification of fit for purpose design & calculations
• Delivery in accordance with allocated budgeted cost and timescales
• Day to day management of the project design team
• Supervision, verification and production of design deliverables
• Design co-ordination with other engineering disciplines
• Implementation of UK H&S legislation and appropriate design standards
• Identification and inclusion of bought out plant and equipment
• Presentation and/or participation at HAZOP and Design Reviews
• Liaison with manufacturing, testing and commissioning personnel to ensure design optimisation

Senior Mechanical Designers – The Person:

• Formal qualification essential
• Previous experience of concept design of special purpose, mechanical handling, robot automation, crane handling or assembly lines would be highly advantageous

Senior roles would also suit Lead Engineers or Team Leaders from an Engineering background looking for a challenging role designing bespoke machinery.

Position is hybrid. 2 or 3 days office. Position available for contractors inside IR35. 1 year duration. Competitive rates paid.

Based in the West Midlands or North West, this position would be commutable from West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Telford, Cannock, Stafford or Manchester, Cheshire, Chester, Warrington and surrounding areas.
