A leader in the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of line control and handling equipment within the manufacturing and fast-moving consumer goods sectors is now looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to get involved in interesting automation projects and join a well established and respected organisation.

 

Field Service Engineer 

 

£35,000 - £40,000 + Overtime, Allowances, Pool Vehicle access, Annual Bonus  

OTE £50k+. Overtime paid at premium rates.

Interesting automation projects within manufacturing sectors  

North West – Travel across UK and occasionally Europe

Field Service Engineer - The Role:

  • Fault finding and problem-solving in mechanical, electrical, or software fields
  • Performing timely and accurate service in-house and at customer’s plants
  • Support with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, or repair to equipment
  • Installation and removal of original equipment, manufacturing machinery and conveyor systems
  • Software and program development for the proper installation, maintenance, commissioning, and service of specialised line control and handling equipment
  • Managing multiple jobs at any one time, prioritising tasks as necessary
  • Supporting other engineers in the build processes within the workshop and onsite
  • Managing company resources effectively and appropriately

 

Field Service Engineer - The Person:

  • HNC/HND qualified in an Electrical Engineering discipline
  • Experience as a service Engineer within an Automation environment ideally
  • Experience in Electrical & Mechanical drawings (Eplan P8 and Autocad)
  • Ability to fault find and diagnose PLC systems is essential for this role. PLC programming experience would be beneficial
  • Commissioning experience in FMCG production lines is highly desired
  • Excellent rapport and communication skills with customers
  • Good project management skills to manage our European installations teams during larger projects
  • Willingness to travel 60% of the time – mainly UK projects but some European

 

This company have pool vehicles available for use when travelling, however, they must be used from the company site and are not to be taken home as a company vehicle. Therefore, candidates must live within a commutable distance of the Warrington are.
